Listing of Board Members

The Composite State Board of Medical Examiners is comprised of thirteen (13) Board members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate. By statute, one member is a "consumer" member, two are Doctors of Osteopathy, and ten are doctors who have doctors of medicine degrees. Each license category has a related "advisory committee" to the Medical Board. The Physician's Assistant Advisory Committee composition is dictated by state law and its membership includes two Medical Board members, two doctors who utilize a Physician's Assistant in their practice and four Physician's Assistants. The composition of other advisory committees are not mandated by statute and are left to the discretion of the Medical Board.
