1998 GEORGIA BINGO ANNUAL REPORT

During calendar year 1998, 257 nonprofit organizations were licensed to conduct bingo games in Georgia with approximately 12,433 approved bingo workers/officers.

Gross receipts for all licensees totaled $31,173,199 in 1998, which was a 2% decrease over 1997 receipts of $31,934,314. The highest gross receipts by any single license holder totaled $304,693 in 1998, which was a 7.3% increase over 1997 receipts of $284,079. The average gross receipts were $121,770.

Prizes awarded to players totaled $19,719,450 or 63.2% of gross receipts as compared to $20,463,258 or 64.1% in 1997.

Charitable donations reported by all licensees amounted to $1,207,387 or 3.8% of gross receipts in 1998 as compared to $999,400 or 3.1% in 1997.

Expenses reported by licensees to run bingo games totaled $7,389,475 in 1998 or 23% of receipts.

Net proceeds reported by licensees after payout of prizes, game expenses and reported donations, totaled $3,114,333 in 1998 or 10% of gross bingo receipts.
